Here at Penn State, we are lucky enough to have access to an arena where many of today’s most popular musicians perform their tours. Let’s take a look at all of the artists who will be making a stop at the Bryce Jordan Center next year.
Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood will be taking the stage at the BJC on February 10, 2023, as a part of her Denim and Rhinestones Tour, accompanied by special guest Jimmie Allen. Underwood got her start in 2005 after winning the fourth season of American Idol. Underwood’s music falls under the country genre, although she does have some very popular, mainstream hits in “Before He Cheats,” and “Blown Away.” This concert is perfect for country music lovers or anyone who wants to sing their hearts out to Underwood’s empowering songs.
Journey
Classic rock band Journey is setting out on the third leg of their Freedom Tour and making a stop at the Bryce Jordan Center on March 3, 2023. Their opening act is Toto, best known for their iconic song “Africa.” Journey was established in 1973 and have released 15 studio albums since then, along with other live and compilation albums. You may know songs “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Any Way You Want It,” or “Separate Ways,” which was featured on season four of Stranger Things. Make sure to secure yourself tickets to see these two legendary bands if you’re a fan of 70s music.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
“The Boss” himself will be taking the BJC’s stage for a sold-out show on March 18, 2023. The New Jersey native is one of the most iconic rock artists from the 70s and 80s. Springsteen released his 21st studio album “Only the Strong Survive,” today. This band is known for their long concerts, sometimes reaching lengths of four hours. With upwards of 300 songs, Springsteen’s catalog is filled with hits. You may know songs like “Born in the U.S.A,” “Dancing In the Dark,” and “Thunder Road.” I was lucky enough to snag some tickets to this show and am looking forward to hearing some of these songs live!
Thomas Rhett
On September 22, 2023, Thomas Rhett will be bringing his Home Team Tour to the Bryce Jordan Center. Special guests Cole Swindell and Nate Smith will also be performing. As the son of country singer Rhett Akins, Rhett has followed in his father’s footsteps. Rhett’s debut album was released in 2013, and he released his sixth studio album earlier this year. Referred to as “The Prince of Country Music,” Rhett has released many chart-toppers like “Die a Happy Man,” and “Marry Me.” If you are a country music fan, be sure to buy some tickets when they go on sale today.
So far, there is an amazing lineup of musicians performing at the BJC next year, and I’m sure there will be more to come. If you have tickets to any of these shows, I hope you have a great time hearing these artists perform live!
