Movin' On 2024 Names Executive Director

Updated: Apr 24, 2023

Everyone say congratulations to Movin’ On’s Executive Director for Movin' On 2024, Sofia Moussan!

Moussan is currently a junior majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Recreation Parks and Tourism Management with a certificate in Meeting and Events Management.

Moussan first got involved with Movin’ On her freshman year through a promotional email from the College of Communications.

“I thought it was such a unique opportunity to gain live event industry experience and I was eager to get involved,” Moussan said.

She first started on the Promo team and then became the Director of Operations her sophomore year. Moussan is now the second Executive Director in Movin’ On history to serve for two consecutive years.

“I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to do this twice and I do not take the responsibility lightly! It is also really exciting that I get to work on the show that is meant to celebrate my own class of students.”

Looking towards Movin’ On 2024, Moussan hopes to take everything she learned this year and use her experience to create a greater impact. One of her goals is to place more focus on highlighting the student performers throughout the year and to use the organization as a “platform for the many talented students at Penn State.”

Moussan is also very passionate about the security and safety of the festival’s attendees, performers, and staff. She is excited to continue building relationships and connections with the different members of the Movin’ On community who all share a common passion for music.

“Movin’ On is a year-long process and all of the hard work it takes to be a part of this unique Penn State tradition,” Moussan said.

Moussan has done an amazing job this year, and she has been an outstanding Executive Director for Movin' On 2023. Movin’ On continues to be in great hands, and I can’t wait for what she’s going to accomplish next year!

“Movin’ On is a show for the students, by the students," Moussan said. "And each year my mission is to show Penn State what that’s all about."
