Following Bridie Lawall’s time as Movin’ On 2025 Executive Director, Allie Riegel will become Executive Director for Movin' On 2026.

Riegel was introduced to Movin’ On from a Linkedin suggestion.

“I remember scrolling on LinkedIn when I was trying to find people or clubs to connect with during my first semester here,” Riegel said. “When I saw the account I noticed that PROMO team applications were closing that same night! I got an interview with one of the PROMO team captains, who is now one of my best friends, and the rest is history.”

Starting out on the PROMO team, Riegel fell in love with the club. During her sophomore year, she became a PROMO team captain.

Majoring in public relations with certificates in Meetings & Event Management and Diversity Studies and minoring Recreation, Parks and Tourism Management, Reigel currently serves as the Director of Operations for Movin’ On’s 50th anniversary.

Throughout her time as Director of Operations, the Virginia native has been working on completing the festival's five-year sustainability plan for 2026-2030.

“I can't wait to see it be implemented by the future Director of Operations,” Riegel states. “This plan serves as a guide for the festival and those who lead it, and it's so meaningful to be able to leave a mark on our community and hopefully inspire others to continue the hard work of environmental advocacy.”

Working on the completion of the five-year sustainability plan has been a five month project with the help of her Sustainability Coordinator, Sydney Hageman.

Riegel has fallen in love with many aspects of Movin’ On throughout her time with the org.

“My favorite part of Movin' On is seeing the growth in members as they continue to come back to the org and move up in leadership,” Riegel said. “There have been members who I've known since their first year who are now going out for CORE or Executive positions, and it's genuinely so meaningful for me to see the passionate and incredible people they've become.”

Riegel is excited to take on the role of Executive Director for Movin’ On’s 51st year, sharing her gratitude for the club and this opportunity.

“In all honesty, I've worked incredibly hard the past couple of years to gain all of the experience and knowledge I can, as well as involving myself in everything I could within this organization,” Riegel said. “With that being said, when Bridie first told me I got the role of Executive Director, it was the proudest I've ever been of myself. I thought back to my 18 year old self who was searching for any kind of passion and community, and felt like I really made it and achieved the goals I made for myself years ago. I felt extreme gratitude, pride and joy that I have the opportunity to lead Movin' On into its 51st year as a Penn State tradition.”
