The Grammy’s were hosted on February 2nd at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California—where fires raged for almost a month straight—causing total devastation to the Southern California areas of Altadena, Pasadena, Malibu and LA. Due to this complete destruction of homes and businesses, the Grammys were turned into a wonderful fundraiser for the people of LA. A QR code was displayed on the screen for TV viewers the entire night, as well as being at each musicians and executives tables for easy donations.
Grammys host, Trevor Noah, announced during the show that $4 million was donated to fire victims by at-home viewers alone. This fundraiser was a beautiful way to show how strong the music community is. The total number of donations from the event has been announced at $10 million, which is going to help so many people who were affected by this disaster.
This year's Grammys was stacked in its musical performances. Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan, who were first-time nominees and performers, blew us all away with their Broadway-level performances with different set designs, dancers, and of course the best outfits. For the first time, all nominees for Best New Artist gave a live performance for the audience- putting on a show to display the insane level of talent in one singular category.
The Grammys only showed CBS audiences nine awards live but handed out almost 85 awards during their premiere show hours before. Among the winners of the premiere show include: Sabrina Carpenter (Pop Solo Performance), Dan Nigro (Producer), St. Vincent (Alternative Music Album), Residente (Música Urbana Album) and Not Like Us (Music Video). Amy Allen won the Grammy for Songwriter of the Year, making her the first-ever woman to win this esteemed award- and she made sure to point out all the female songwriters who came before her during her empowering speech.
So many artists passed milestones at the 2025 Grammys. Sabrina Carpenter, Charli xcx, Chappell Roan, and Doechii became Grammy Award winners for the first time, winning big in their categories and cementing themselves in Grammy history forever.
Speaking of Grammy history, with 35 wins Beyoncé further solidified her record as the most awarded artist at the Grammys and earned her first-ever win for Album of the Year for her country album, “Cowboy Carter”.

Kendrick Lamar swept in all his nominated categories, going home with 5 new Grammys for his rap diss-track, “Not Like Us”; including wins in the Record and Song of the Year categories- beating out all the pop artists.
However, multiple-time Grammy Award winners, Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, lost out on leaving with any awards this time. Though the pop stars did not receive any Grammys for their albums, they did not let that stop them from cheering on their fellow artists in every category.
There was so much incredible talent at this year's Grammys. From the nominees to the performers to the announcers- this year will go down in history as one of the most exciting Grammys of our time. Now, we anxiously wait for the newest albums that will be released just in time for the 2025 Grammy Awards next year!! I’ll see you there!
