RULES & SAFETY

Movin’ On is a 100% substance-free event, for Penn State students ages 18+. Movin’ On has some basic rules and regulations in place to make sure safety is maintained for all those at the festival. Movin' On 2019 will be implementing changes to their security. After looking at Movin' On's past security protocols with University Officials, enhanced security measures will ensure the safety of the attendees, as well as those individuals assigned to work the event. There will be two entrance/exit points to the IM Field with staffing increases. The following items and activities are banned:

  • No Drugs
  • No Alcohol
  • No Weapons
  • No Bags*
  • No Smoking
  • No Tailgating
  • No Camping
  • No Coolers
  • No Bottles (unless empty and reusable)
  • No Lawn Chairs
  • No Noisemakers
  • No Laser Pointers
  • No Video Recording Equipment
  • No Pets
  • No Umbrellas
  • No Balls/Projectiles

*No bags are permitted. This includes: backpacks, fanny packs, purses, messenger bags, string bags, camera bags, diaper bags, brief cases, roll bags, duffel bags, binocular cases, and any other bags. Attendees may bring a wristlet with or without a strap (no larger than 4" x 6" x 1").

Attendees are permitted to bring an empty reusable water bottle. There will be a water refill station at the event.

Attendees must have a valid Penn State Student ID or government issued ID to enter.

PARKING

Stadium West - $5Located west of Beaver Stadium and accessible only from Park Ave.



Event parking will be available for $5 (cash only) at Stadium West. Vehicles displaying a valid Penn State parking permit will not be subject to the event parking fee. Visitors parking at Stadium West are encouraged to use the sidewalk along University Drive to walk to and from the festival area. No overnight parking is permitted in any of the commuter lots (Stadium West, Lot 44, Porter North).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is Movin’ On for Penn State students only?
The festival was created as a student-focused and ages 18+ activity for Penn State students and those graduating and “movin’ on” in their lives. All guests are required to show a valid PSU ID or Government Issued ID at either entrance point. Attendees under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian to enter. All alcohol and drug laws will be strictly enforced by security and Police services.
Can I attend Movin' On if I am under the age of 18?
Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to enter the show.
Why is Movin’ On for people ages 18+?
Movin’ On feels that the environment of the festival is more appropriate, safe, and hospitable for those aged 18 years or older. To be reflective, Movin’ On has traditionally been an ages 18+ show. This year, the Executive Committee chose to take a more active approach in our marketing towards this effort, to ensure the safety and well-being of our concert attendees. Guests under the age of 18 are welcomed as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
How is Penn State going to make sure attendees are safe?
Penn State takes the safety and security of its students, faculty and staff very seriously. The safety and wellbeing of visitors to our campus is also extremely important. Penn State University Campus Police, along with a team of auxiliary police will be on site at the Movin' On Music Festival. Security cameras will be installed at various points in the concert area of Lot 12 (Blue Band Field) and a first-aid tent fully staffed with EMS personnel and stand-by ambulance service are also planned for the duration of the festival. All alcohol and drug laws will be strictly enforced by security and Police services.
Can Alumni attend Movin’ On?
Yes. As a Penn State tradition, alumni are welcome to attend.
Where can I buy tickets?
Movin’ On is a ticketless event.
Can I bring a bag to Movin' On?
No. No bags are permitted. This includes: backpacks, fanny packs, purses, messenger bags, string bags, camera bags, diaper bags, brief cases, roll bags, duffel bags, binocular cases, and any other bags. Attendees may bring a wristlet with or without a strap (no larger than 4" x 6" x 1"). Any bag or items left outside of the perimeter of the field will be considered trash and will be disposed of as such.
Can I bring necessary special medical equipment into the event?
An exception will be made for medical necessary items after proper inspection.
Can I bring medication into the show?
We recommend that if a prescription medication is necessary you only bring the medication in a quantity appropriate to the amount of time you will be visiting. Medication must be in a clear Ziploc style bag.
How is Movin’ On funded?
Movin’ On is funded mainly through University resources. Movin’ On is funded by the student fee and is allocated to the organization by the University Park Allocation Committee. Additional support is given by sponsors and collaborating student organizations.
Will the event happen if it rains? Is there a rain date?
Movin' On will happen rain or shine! However, in the event of extreme inclement weather, the start of Movin' On will be delayed and/or canceled.
